Short version: Focus Clock stores only what's needed to show you your focus history. We never sell your data, never use it for advertising, and you can export or delete everything at any time from your account settings.
1. Who We Are
Focus Clock (focusclock.app) is a free focus timer and productivity tracker. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
For questions or requests, contact us at prasannagoudasp12@gmail.com.
2. Information We Collect
Account information — when you create an account we collect:
- Your email address (via Google Sign-In or email/password registration)
- Your display name and profile photo (from Google, if you use Google Sign-In) — used only to personalise your experience
- An internal user ID generated by our authentication provider (Supabase)
Focus session data — each time you complete a focus session:
- Session start time, goal end time, and actual end time
- Whether the session was completed (i.e., you reached your goal)
- Bonus seconds (time spent past the goal)
- Activity tag (e.g., "Code", "Study") — optional, only if you select one
- Your timezone at the time of the session
- The local calendar date of the session
Local device preferences — stored only on your device (localStorage), never sent to our servers:
- Light/dark theme preference
- Timezone display selection
- Clock mode (analog/digital) and format (12h/24h)
- Sound preferences
- Onboarding hint status
- Custom activity tags you create
We do not collect: precise location data, payment information, biometric data, IP-based tracking data, or any information from users who have not created an account.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To display your focus history (History pane, Stats heatmap, streak counter)
- To authenticate your account and keep you signed in
- To calculate your productivity statistics (daily totals, streaks, time-period summaries)
- To allow you to export your own data (JSON download from Account settings)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the Focus Clock service to you.
4. Google Sign-In
If you sign in with Google, we use Google OAuth 2.0. We request only the minimum necessary scopes:
- email — to identify your account
- profile — to display your name/photo inside the app
We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or any other Google service unless explicitly stated and separately consented to for a specific feature (e.g., Google Calendar integration, if you choose to enable it).
Google's use of information received from Focus Clock is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your account and session data is stored on Supabase (our backend provider), which uses PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS. Supabase enforces Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring every database query is automatically restricted to your own user ID — no user can access another user's data, even with a valid API key.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). We do not store passwords — they are hashed by Supabase's authentication system.
6. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can:
- Export all your session data as JSON at any time (Account → Export my data)
- Delete your session history at any time (Account → Delete my history)
- Delete your account entirely by contacting us — this removes all stored data
7. Third-Party Services
Focus Clock uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting. Privacy Policy
- Google OAuth — sign-in only. Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare Pages — static site hosting and CDN. Privacy Policy
- Google Fonts — typography (Inter, JetBrains Mono, Caveat). Font files are loaded from Google's CDN.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking pixels. There are no cookies other than those set by Supabase for authentication session management.
8. Children's Privacy
Focus Clock is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent (by deleting your account)
You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app (Account settings). For requests that require manual action, contact us at the address below.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Focus Clock after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
